Talea Bar is a family-run establishment located in the heart of Rome, just steps away from the Mausoleum of Augustus. The need of the establishment was a logo restyling operation and the development of a corporate identity that was previously absent.
The focus of the project was to give uniqueness and elegance to the logo, finding a solution that would evoke the historical and cultural significance of the area and appeal to both local and international audiences.
Brief
The client’s requirement was to preserve the recognizability of the previous logo while finding a graphic solution that would characterize it.
Research
A symbol was designed to be paired with the original logo for the restyling operation. A research on symbols was carried out to achieve a graphic solution that would immediately speak of the company’s identity and the market.
Coffee, the emblem of the bar, is also an internationally recognizable icon that therefore speaks to both a local and foreign audience.
Furthermore, the architectural plan of the Mausoleum of Augustus, a monument adjacent to the Talea, was an inspiration for the project in reference to the cultural aspect in which the bar is immersed.

Restyling
The restyling transforms the symbol into a distinctive emblem for the venue. Its essential geometries, repeated on a circular grid, are reminiscent of a medallion. For this reason, multiple variants of the logo have been developed in a stamp version.
The warm color palette features shades that allude to the materials present in the venue, such as brass, brick, and wrought iron.
